the making -- the Best of Bootie 2006! DJs Adrian & the Mysterious
D have hand-picked 20 of their favorite bootleg mashups from the
past year and compiled them into a 78-minute continuous mix, suitable

Bootie LA photos A+B – a short documentary about mashups DJs Adrian and the Mysterious D and LA mashup producer Mr. Fab are interviewed in this short documentary about mashups, directed by Joel Kuwahara. Bootie LA is featured prominently, and there are quite a few shots of the dance floor! The QuickTime video is in two parts: watch A+B: Part 1 here. watch A+B: Part 2 here So what's a mashup? What's a bootleg? It's pretty much all the same. Also known as "bastard pop," a bootleg is a song that's "mashed-up." Usually, this means the vocal track of one song is mixed over the instrumentation of another. Using audio editing software, DJs and mashup artists combine different artists and musical genres to create new and unique songs that are often greater than the sum of their parts. Imagine Michael Jackson rocking out with Nirvana, Britney Spears singing with Daft Punk, Cher fronting AC/DC, or Ludacris rapping with Depeche Mode. Can't imagine that? Then get your ass to Bootie to hear for yourself! Is
this legal? So
where can I get these mashups? Or,
just come to Bootie and get one of CONTACT and FEEDBACK For questions, inquiries, suggestions, bookings, or whatever, drop us an e-mail: bootie@bootiela.com |
